Oracle Blog

Create your own Oracle Blog

Collaboration and sharing is at the very heart of the Oracle community and that is why every registered user can create and maintain an individual online weblog (commonly known as a Blog), completely FREE of charge.

The purpose of a Blog is to provide members with their own easy to use personal web space, a place to publish your own thoughts and ideas within an established collaborative, community driven Oracle based network.

Why Blog at UKOCN?

The purpose of a Blog is to provide members with their own easy to use personal web space, a place to publish your own thoughts and ideas within an established collaborative, community driven Oracle based network.

What do I publish?

What you decide to publish is entirely up to you. You can use your Blog space as your personal soapbox, a daily diary of your activities and thoughts, a place for sharing best business practice, hints and tips, or just your own private space for telling the world about you, your interests or your area of expertise within the Oracle community.

Connecting with friends and colleagues

For many the use of a Blog is no longer just a place for sharing their own thoughts and ideas as a single author, it is about connecting and sharing with people who have read your Blog and who take the time and thought to respond.

Tell your friends and colleagues

Once you have created your Blog why not tell your friends and colleagues, invite them to join the network, invite them to read your Blog and invite them to join your Groups?
Go to ‘Invite’ on the top button bar or ‘Grow the Network’ in Quick Links. Add an email address and click ‘Add Address’. You can add as many contacts as you like, either individually or comma separated. Only by clicking ‘Add Address’ will your contacts be added.
Add your own invite text. Make it personal, make it interesting and inviting. Tell them about your Blog and invite them to join your Groups.

Tips for beginners:

• Blogging is best learned by Blogging, so what are you waiting for?
• Linking and commenmting is at the heart of effective Blogging – it’s what the internet is all about.
• Express yourself, and develop your own Blogging style and personality.• Have an opinion and do not be afraid to express it.
• Post Regularly.

The easiest way to get started and to understand Blogging is to try it out, it really is very straightforward, easy to use and hopefully lots of fun. Best of all, it is totally FREE
